I really like the name Iris. I worked with one who was Hispanic. It totally worked for her.

I don't think my children could pull it off, though. I'd use it as a middle name, but our last name starts with S - BOO ;P

LOL, I'm right there with you. My DD's name always comes up on hipster lists (DCUM and Nameberry), and we are preppy to the core, especially DH...and he's the one who first suggested her name.

Somehow my DD's name hasn't shown up on this thread yet, but I will be watching and waiting.

I also have a friend who has a child named Linus - also German background. It works. She lives about an hour north of DC.
