Why do so many parents think they can control this?
Of course talk to your children about these things. But since the vast majority of kids experiment anyway, its best not to judge the parents. PP, your kids are drinking. They just aren't telling you. (Unless they are young, in which case you really don't know what you are talking about).
But that's exactly my point. You can't control it. So why bother trying to delve into which schools have a reputation for alcohol or drug use. Alcohol and drugs are obviously going to be present in each and every public and private school. My incoherent point, I guess, was that there is no way to control the environment, so truly talk to your kids from an early age with the understanding that they WILL drink and they will likely try drugs.

+1. But a few posters couldn't resist and jumped right on OP's bandwagon.Anonymous wrote:Can't figure out if OP was trying to trash Landon or GDS. Maybe both? Anyway, troll fail.

Straw man much? So, GDS and Heights are pretty much the same with regard to drugs and alcohol. Nice to know. By the way, what color is the sky on the planet you live on?

There is no difference. Every one of them has lots of drinking especially by Senior year.
That is absurd, of course there are differences, dramatic differences, in school culture. Are there SOME students who drink and use drugs in EVERY school? Very likely yes. Are drugs and drinking more prevalent at some schools? Absolutely.
You can think that if you want but having been through 2 kids and Hs there are really no differences. All the schools have kids who party and do drugs. Are there kids who don't? Sure. But all the schools had representatives at the parties I heard about.
