I've found the Trader Joe's frozen broccoli is less mushy after cooking. I microwave mine until just tender.

sautee in butter and garlic - add water - like half a cup? I make the temperature/gas medium (like 4-5). takes 10-15 minutes, until the water evaporates and the floretts are not crunchy. it's very good - my 3.5 year old eats this type of broccoli/cauliflower 3 times a day he goes through a pack (frozen) a day
