Sounds like he knows that if he stands and screams for 15 minutes you will come back. I would just tell him that you aren't coming back and I bet in one night he'll be done, and he will be crying a lot less on subsequent nights.


We were following Ferber - checking in on him in intervals to let him know we were still there. Day 4 (last night) was AWESOME. Lasted about 10 minutes - then out. Woke up 3 times - all for less than 10 minutes. This is such an improvement. I am not 100% rested- but I will take it!!!!

Wow, I am more of a wimp than I ever imagined. I still stay in the room with my 16 month old while he settles down. I honestly can't stand to hear him cry, or to know he is crying without comfort. I know it is good for him; I just can't stand it.
