Have you tried inquiring on one of the doula match websites? Those women are super well connected and probably know the kind of Chinese doulas you're looking for.

I'd definitely ask your favorite local restaurant if they do catering for this, even if they don't expressly offer they might be willing to do it with you off menu for delivery daily?

When my friend gave birth in the states, her mother did all of this (and washed the diapers outside on the lawn with the garden hose--she wasn't used to the washing machine). Do you have a family member who could help? Maybe in return for your paying for the flight from China?

i'm not sure you'll find people to help that much with this--if I remember correctly, it is the one time in traditional chinese culture where MIL takes care of YOU instead of you caring for her. So it's family members who do this for each other.

Zuo yuezi has some appeal but some really not great parts too. I had relatives who observed this when I was staying with extended family in Taiwan. Some versions hold that you should not wash your hair or bathe for the month (to avoid getting your head wet and catching cold), or that you should not have any salt for a month. No cold drinks, sometimes no going outside. Not super fun.

If you just want someone to make you some of the traditional "bu" nutritional foods (like boiled chicken innards in broth) then you could probably advertise in Rockville or on care.com and see if someone has a mom staying here from China who would do that.

Posting to bump this thread because I have the exact same question as OP (and with hope that OP might still frequent these boards). I am looking for a Chinese "yue so" and have no idea where to look.

Aren't there any Chinese-American organizations or places of worship in the area you could reach out to?
