If I moved to SoCal, I'd get either: One of those Arts & Crafts bungalos with a giant rambling yard full of mature fruit trees; or one of those mid-century modern ranch homes with sliding doors leading to the pool.

That is a super cool house OP. Knowing the state of real estate in that region I would caution you to be extremely careful to get what is a great price on it. I'm not alone in seeing another bubble situation happening there.
