That's true but I wonder if the quality of finishes makes that much of a difference, as long as the bathroom is there. I mean, if you have a master bathroom, does it matter if the tile is ceramic vs. natural stone?
No. I care most about natural stone on the countertops, the flooring can look natural, same with the shower. OP get bigger tiles, they always look more expensive to me, 4" is very dated.
I completely agree. We just put down new tile in our basement bath--we put down the large tiles, they are porcelain not marble or stone and the large size and beige color makes them look super expensive and high end. The cost was only about $3 per square foot for the tile.
I agree that these sound nice (and I'd like to know where you got them) but I have to ask-- won't these big tiles look dated too at some point? I wonder how long it will take. At some point, the 4" tiles were the latest thing too.

To the. $10k more and $5k more poster - it really depends on how crappy the kitchen and bath were before. Our redos easily added $100k to the house value.

Quotes for a full master bathroom redo have been about $30K for my MB- It's not a huge bathroom either (3K SF- average house) I know I'd never get the $back in resale

You don't get all your reno$ back on resale; I'd pay $10k more for a home with a new kitchen & $5k more for each new bathroom. I'd also take off those amounts where they need renovation.

disclaimer that I mostly don't like the ceramic tile that is trying to look like stone. and the generic 4x4s. some ceramic is OK though - subway, hex, etc.
