Not OP, they would not accept our sofa with cat scratches. It was a very usuable/comfortable sofa, and our cat never peed on it, never threw up, etc. He just scratched it. I was surprised they wouldn't take it, but we ended up just throwing it out.
Many families with kids have severe pet allergies... it may be more than that but I wouldn't want something with that many scratches.
