Great results. And we are waiting for that Vanderbilt spot to open up. Your DC wasn't interested in UVA?

Thanks I find this informative. The list is similar to something my H and I have discussed with our son.

It's great but also important!

There are so many wonderful schools out there that it's easy to choose safeties you'll love.

And DC must also go in knowing which schools are reaches, which will only be possible with the right fin aid package, etc.

I'm sorry, but who are the game cocks?

Congrats!

Scholarships definitely sweeten the deal.

You do realize no one on here knows who the hell you are, right?

And we definitely don't know who your DC is.

You are just one weird person.

DD was also accepted to South Carolina with instate tuition. It had been her first choice until she was accepted to Villanova, where we'll pay full freight.

Congrats!

But could you please clarify the final decision: Was it SC or Villanova?

And you guys would forego a full ride to pay full freight? That's great and your family's perogative but a tiny part of me went "Yikes!" But if it works for your family and all is happy!!!

Well bless your heart. Now leave us alone.

Yeah, I have no idea why that person would come into such a thread, knowing the topic if she wasn't willing to play along.

The longer I'm around these boards, the more I understand why so many kids in this area are troubled and suicidal. Some of the parents are miserable and bitter which affects the way they parent their children which affects...I can't imagine having to live with PP.

By the way, I think she's lying. There's NO WAY PP's child was accepted at a school the family is happy with. No way whatsoever!

Not to mention that the result - a commuter campus of U. Mass. - is seriously anti-climatic given some of the other schools to which your DC was admitted. You do know a lot of people associate that school primarily with the Boston Marathon bomb suspect, right?

You know a lot of people think you're an asshole, right?

An asshole...

OR parent whose child will not be going off to college in the fall...OR

parent whose child will be heading to NOVA...OR

person silly enough to think I/we care what they think.

I'm so HAPPY with DC and thrilled with DC's options and final choice!

Aww, hugs and kisses. I just find the helicopter parenting slightly nauseating, and I'm being honest when I say all I know about U.Mass-Dartmouth is that it's the satellite campus of U.Mass. that the Boston Marathon bombing suspect attended briefly.

Posting a list AFTER THE FACT is helicopter parenting? Perhaps that's just a term you like to throw out--thinking it's a negative phrase--without fully understanding its meaning.

Did YOUR child get into any schools?

Or are you just jealous and want to try to rain on someone's parade?

You sound bitter and miserable.

Hugs and kisses to your kids.
