If you can get a nicer house because of the "busy street" discount and the noise level is fine to you and your family, go for it, just know it limits the upside when you sell. No garage is tough for resale. Very nice house by us with no garage has been sitting for two months, houses on busy roads still sell. Way too many absolutists on this board.
OP here. House 1 has also been sitting for a while now and while I like the house I am nervous about the resale. Would you mind sharing what general price point your house is at?
Not my house, but over a million. In an area where every house has either an attached or detached garage. This house has room for a garage and architect plants. I think for resale the issue is what is the norm for the area where the house is. If all the other houses in the area have garages, it likely will be a resale issue. If not, maybe not a big deal.
I don't know where all the posters who say no bust street live. But if you are looking in the city, or close in suburb, hard to be outside earshot of a busy street. Probably different if you are looking in further out suburbs.
