My mom's been battling this for the better part of one year. Doctors have no explanation for it. She has had every test you can think of.

Started while on vacation in Europe. She was standing there minding her own business, felt NOTHING but sure did smell something. it wasn't till later that she realized she'd soiled herself. No warning, no pain, no weightless, no weakness. I often wondered if parasites might be the issue.

The lack of warning symptoms would concern me too.
Hope OP got medical attention.

With IBS-D, you have horrible cramping. Hence the old name spastic colon.

Not always, and you can have involuntary leaking of fecal matter with IBS. Hot sauce can set IBS off.

This happened to my 4 yr old with that bug that went around. He never had diarrheah before and it all just came out of him in the living room and he was totally freaked out and crying.

What concerns me is the defecation without any warning at all, OP didn't describe any cramping which usually precedes diarrhea like this.

Did you not have any cramping or grumbling? No feeling of gas or needing to fart? You didn't feel anything coming out?

I would find it strange (and worth medical attention) if there was no cues and no feeling. Those aren't normal.

If you had any cues (that you may have ignored) or if you could feel it, then it was likely just the hot sauce or a bug that did a number on your system.

I woke up last week, hadn't been sick. I was lying in bed and my stomach started just feeling 'off', decided I better get up and as I started to get up I realized I better clench and high tail it to the bathroom. I barely made it. It turned out I had a very mild bug of some kind.

Unlike you, I had a few cues and I definitely felt it come out!
