He had sex in the middle of a hallway with a 14yr old during school. That should not and does not happen. My child is in middle school. She will be 13 when she enters as a Freshman. I do not want her around 20-21yr old creepers like this.
Sorry, this is not normal. IB can only cover up a problem school so much.
I don't think you know much about what goes on in high schools.

We chose to not live in W district on purpose. Yes, every school has its issue, but it seems that at these wealthy schools, there is a lot more drugs since most of the kids have $, and the parents just bail them out. I feel like "affluenza" is prevalent here.
read the thread on the US/News World report Best High school ranking. there are postings about these W schools and the issues there. I know a few people that went to Wootton. They hated it because of the cliques and conceited attitude. Of course, there are issues at the non-W schools like fighting and such, but at least at those schools, the kids don't usually get bailed out by their parents. So, there at least, kids are being punished and not getting away with bad behavior as much.
RM has various SES students, and it is quite large. I know a parent whose son goes there. He said there are groups for any type of person; it's easier to find "your people" in that school. And there are lots of kids there that take AP but there are a fair number of kids that don't. Your DC will be able to find a group to fit in both socially and academically in these larger non-W schools.
You sound very insecure and jealous. The W schools are big enough that kids with diverse interests find their place or people. They just have better academics and fewer kids engaging in misconduct. Did you read about the 18 year old sophomore at RM arrested for having sex in a hallway with a 14-year-old? Oy vey.
Did you hear about the Churchill kid that overdosed and had crack and guns. Or the suicide this week in another W school?

I don't understand why every negative opinion someone has about something means they are insecure or jealous. Are you insecure/jealous of people that have things that you don't care about? You sound ignorant. Not everyone wants what you want or thinks what you think - thank god.
Yes I heard about the sex at RM. You think kids at W schools aren't have sex? Probably in your house, maybe on your bed? The W schools have kids that engage in lots of misconduct. They just don't get caught as much b/c parents are probably gone a lot or bailed out so it's under-reported.
