I currently drive a Prius, but I miss my Wrangler, too. Of course, I get three times the gas mileage now. But I really miss the 4WD and taking the top off all summer long.

Congrats on your 2nd....I always wondered how effective those beetles was (as far as gas..if they had alotta problems with them & so on) but from the way you talking it gets the job done.

of course, I'm now pregnant with #2 and trying to figure out how much longer the beetle can hold out for. Our first is in ES, though, so no need to fit a double stroller or anything. We shall see - I LOVE my beetle!

I drive a VW Beetle.
My husband drives a Ford Fusion Hybrid.
We live in the burbs and my husband commutes about 100 miles round trip per day (not to downtown DC, either).
My car is 12 years old and has less than 80K on it - I don't drive a lot as I have worked from home a good part of the last 5 years and used public transport as much as possible before that.

Yeah great cars..easy on maintenance ..good on gas (depending on if you swap the v8 small block for something bigger )
