The fact of the matter is that it is impossible to judge the motives or sincerity of an anonymous poster, no matter how sweetly they express their question. Further, the school should be the arbiter of what is communicated to the public and not some well-meaning and knowledgeable third party. This is not paranoia. It is just good sense. We all spend countless hours educating our kids not to post personal information like address or vacation schedules or whereabouts online. I am not sure why this is different. Redirect the questioner to the school official website, or if you know them you can talk to them offline. But wait, you don't know the questioner...

No need to apologize! I think people are more aware and maybe paranoid (me included) with the anniversary of Boston this week etc. Thank you for clarifying.

I am the original poster. I do not have a child that attends the school however I do have a relative that does attend and will graduate this year. Of course I could call the family directly and ask but I was arranging for a surprise visit from the grandparents. One of which is ill and does not travel much but wanted to try and participate in this occasion. I was attempting to purchase airline tickets online last evening and why I asked the question. Thinking someone may know the answer. After not seeing it specifically listed on the school website. Not to worry, I called the school this morning and received the information I was looking for. OP is clearly not a Beauvoir parent.

I have trouble believing that someone who intended an act of violence would broadcast it like this. However - and this is where my paranoia goes -- I can imagine an ugly divorce type situation where one parent was excluding another, possibly for good reason.

I'm a Beauvoir parent. I've never posted on a thread related to Beauvoir before, but I think I may be able to shed some light on this question. In the past, Beauvoir has had a graduation ceremony for third graders separate from the all-school closing chapel. This year, for the first time, there is no separate graduation ceremony. Instead, graduation will be celebrated during the closing chapel. It may be that this parent was not aware of the change and looked on the Beauvoir calendar for the date of a separate graduation event. When she didn't find it, and needed the information last night for whatever reason, resorted to this forum.

Agree and I think someone need to remind beauvoir and all schools not to give out private details over the phone. Parents can get info via teachers and other ways.
