The park is open to everyone until 1am Easter week.

No planning is needed at all. Just go and have a good time.

PP again, also, if you are staying in site you can also take advantage of extra magical hours - early morning and after firework. ONly people who stay on site are allowed to get in during those hours. If you are in the park already and they do have extra magical hours for resort guests, you could also stay in. They don't go on checking - only if you need to get into the park.

Honestly, it was the only times I had remotely any fun.

I just came back from a 10 day trip and it was hell. It was not even spring break week (before or after Easter), but still very crowded full of Brits and Canadians in particular.

In any event, the only way I can see you remotely enjoying this is if you go with NO expectation at all of going in any rides or seeing any characters. Just go to see the place, walk around, eat crap food, watch the parade - that all can be fun in itself. If you happen to see a wait time for a stand by line for 15min or less, get on it and enjoy the ride - I doubt you will manage though.
