I remember our sellers telling us how much they loved their paint color and all I could think was "I wish you could take it with you"-- we painted over it before we moved in.

I actually really like paint cans... I've used it for touch ups until I had to repaint the whole house. I really liked the colors that the previous owner chose too.

Please don't leave the cans. You can write down the paint colors/brands/codes/ and what room they go with, but dispose of your own paint.

The previous owners of our house left over 20 cans of paint in the laundry room. Sure, most of the cans were the colors used throughout the house, but I don't want to repaint the house using their colors. I'll pick my own. And the paints were all 7-15 years old. It was not usable, and just meant that I had to deal with disposing of their trash. With paint cans that means drying out the paint and then either calling for a bulk pickup or putting them in the trash two at a time.

Take stuff that isn't screwed in, so I would probably leave the coat hooks.

When I moved out of my last house, I left toilet paper on the rolls in all three bathrooms. I left all appliance and systems manuals and warranties. I also left current paint cans labeled with the room and the date they were painted, so they could do touch-ups. I got rid of all paint cans that weren't current. (wish the sellers of my current house had been so nice - they left me a lot of crap to clean up.) All the blinds stayed, though I'd removed curtains before staging so I could keep them. (they weren't custom sizes.)

I'd unplug the fridge and leave the doors open--the power is likely to be off at some point, and it will smell dank in the fridge if it's closed and off.

OP here,
I will leave the manuals (already have a 3 ring binder prepared for the new owner) and some TP!

Thanks!

They also left a disgusting refrigerator and kitchen in general. Don't do that.

I don't see the big deal about appliance manuals -- I'd rather not have that clutter as they are all accessible online.

The appliance manuals are nice--then you know you have the right model number if you can't easily find a model number on the appliance.

Sweet idea! If we ever sell, I'll do this. Assuming the buyers aren't PITA.

EWWWW you would actually leave your shower curtains. You might as well leave the toilet brushes too.

Is anything is attached it stays.

If the coat hooks in the front of the house are attached - they stay.
