Common Core is really not a conservative/liberal thing. I know many on both sides who support Common Core. I also know many on both sides who oppose it. Some liberals oppose it because they hear their teachers union friends whining with the usual "we fear change" whine. And of late, conservative media seems to be jumping on the hate bandwagon really only because Arne Duncan is giving out money and because of their general sense of having to ramp up the false outrage whenever "some liberal is going around telling us what's best". Mostly knee-jerk BS either way.

What is the problem? The standards are bad? It's not possible to design tests that test whether children meet the standards? Which? Please give a specific example of a Common Core standard you find bad and/or impossible to test.

Not sure why people keep parroting this. Several teachers have posted that they are evaluated on their students' progress from beginning o to end of year, not standardized assessment test.
