I liked Gymboree for my son until age 8. Since then, it's either Lands End or Kohls. He is 11 now

DS is 3 and DD is 5; DD wears a uniform to school.

DS wears mostly Carters. Reason being, he destroys most things quickly - paint stains, food stains, etc.

DD wears a mix of Carters and Hanna Andersson. There is a noticable difference in the quality of the two. She has had some HA for 3 years and they still look new (stains seem to come out better and the clothes just hold up to more washings). As they get older, I'll buy less Carters and more HA type of quality.

I discovered ruum (for boys) through zulily, and have been very impressed with quality and style! All the ruum clothes have held up just as well as tea collection, but are drastically cheaper (especially if you buy online and combine sale with a coupon code).

Mini Boden, Carters, and Target.

Zara is great In the mid range.

High end HA, MiniBoden full price
Every day: same as above but hand me down or grandmom gifts
Low end: Old Navy on sale. Quality sucks but another grandmother likes it

High end: Burberry
Midrange: Zara, JCrew
Lower end: h$m

MiniBoden for everyday. Jacadi for high end but only their dresses. Most of their clothes don't look comfortable for a child.

Regular is Carter's, Old Navy, and Gap
High end is Tea Collection

I only have a DD. She is 3. I get 75 percent of her stuff from Mini Boden, probably 25% from Tea. I don't like Tea that much, but she does. The prices are high, yes, but the quality is good and my friends and I pass clothes to one another so by the time they're done, these items will have dressed multiple children. I bought a lot of Target stuff when she was a baby and it's all been thrown out.

Mini boden for "high end." Carter's and lands end for bottoms. Lands end and target for tops.

I buy the American brands used in consignment shops, and the French brands new when I go home (or my family buys them and sends them over). In France, there is not much second-hand market because people use up their clothes, or pass them on (same with other goods). Because of taxation, clothes are more expensive than here, but I like the style and fit on my children. Here I was pleasantly surprised to find "like new" clothing in second-hand shops, for half or a third of the price! The US is a wonderful place...

Mini Boden for both for higher end (I don't buy high high end). Tea for both for mid-range. Sometimes Hanna, mostly for DD. Gap on sale, sometimes Old Navy for both for more affordable play clothes, and Target for basics for DS. Generally I find I have to spend more on DD to find non-trashy stuff. I don't like glitter on her clothes.
