You should probably not be on a thread that was created for people making $40k less than you do. Some people here ONLY make $40k.

+1 Go hop on one of the many "I make lots of money but its not enough, wah" threads.

Family of 4 with 92K HHI.

Money is tight. No impulse purchases, strict budget.
Our biggest expenditure is our mortgage. After-school activities cost a lot too. Public school in our posh neighborhood is fine. Saving for retirement and college.

We are happy.

Single parent teacher who makes just over $50K. I don't count on child support because I usually don't get any.

Family of five here. Our gross was $99k in 2013. It was a very stressful year.

+1 I am the PP who nets about $50k between my boyfriend and myself and I actually just started a new job with a $13k raise. I was making $35k beforehand. It is great to have some breathing room now and extra money after bills are paid to save something!

Same here, only I just got bumped from $82,000 to $85,000. Enough, but not enough for adequate college and retirement savings, especially as DD is headed to college in 2 years.
