My DH is morbidly obese and I am doing everything I can to help him. (Working on healthy diet, exercise with trainer, etc.) I'm interested in whether anyone has a recommendation for a medical weight loss center or a nutritionist who is also an MD -- not for a prescription for weight loss meds, but more so for a doctor's monitoring of his weight loss efforts and ability to have regular blood work done (he's not pre/diabetic but there is strong family history). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
OP, I just wanted to say-good for you! It is very difficult to lose weight without the support of your significant other. DH lost 50lbs and I lost 40lbs and we have both kept it off for a few years now. We could have never done this if both of us were not on board. We both fully support each other's exercise habits (by juggling the kids morning/evenings often alone) and we hardly ever try to tempt the other with suggesting eating a unhealthy dinner. We both do a TON of meal prep on Sunday nights for the upcoming week, so we are never in a pinch and find ourselves in the drive through.
An unexpected result is this has really strengthened our marriage. We are so fit now and often will get a babysitter simply to go on a long hike or a long run. It is really nice to be healthy together. Plus we are simply more attractive to each other, which was quite the pleasant surprise in the bedroom
keep at it!
