I have many Japanese friends and those are usually the first to come up when I ask them what's the best Japanese restaurant in this area.

I second mikado in Salt Lake City. I had to eat there every day I was there.

With flown-in fish, anything's possible. The best sushi meal of my life was at the Mikado in Salt Lake City.
