(I'm not Catholic, FWIW, but even I get tired of the endless bashing here.) And then you seem to excuse said douchebag PP with a random aside about DCUM and snark. None of this is very consistent, is all.

OP- I am going thru this now. I think it is a normal feeling for them and they may come back as the get older.

OP, let them explore their doubts. Reality says only THEY can decide what they believe and don't believe. Don't discourage their questions, it's a good learning phase.

I no longer believe, but the more I was pushed the less likely I was to attend services etc.

PP here - interesting the assumptions you make - OP said her children "had issues" with the church and it's teachings and I said she should take comfort in knowing she has raised people who actually use what god/the universe/whatever you want to say gave them ie: their brains. Please name the great philosopher/theologian/thinker who didn't come to their beliefs - whatever they are- through questioning and intellectual struggle.

OP understood what I said - you unfortunately are clearly programmed to view anything other than unquestioning adherence to something someone told you as an attack. Your prayers (as reflexive and unthinking as they must be) are most unneeded and unwelcome.
