I became more religious as I got older and had children, or at least I returned to the level of practice I had as a child. I yearned to raise my children with the same beliefs my parents instilled in me and to give them a supportive community of faith. Having children made me more appreciative of God's grace and in more need of regular prayer (prayers of thanksgiving as well as prayers for patience, etc.). I was also inspired to go back to church because the Christian voices in the news (loud, homophobic) aren't representative of the church I was raised in and I think it's more important than ever for liberal Christians to attend church and speak out. I'm a mainline Protestant.

Yes. I "church shopped" for years, but ultimately returned to the Catholic Church. I grew up catholic and loved the sense of community. I do have my issues with the church, but I go to a great parish (st. John Neumann is reston) and I feel like the priests there "get it."

I'm Episcopalian, and I joke that I've finally (in my 40's) become the C&E (Christmas & Easter) Episcopalian I always aspired to be. I rarely go to church. I'm definitely agnostic, but I'm no more or no less agnostic than I ever was. I do believe in God and I believe in Christian values (like the ten commandments and Do Unto Others and helping the sick/poor/etc.), but I don't see the need to go to church on Sundays. I'm a runner and a hiker, so for me, being out in nature is a form of worship, when I can appreciate the world that God has made. (I do believe in evolution, but also believe in a creator.)
