Well, we have both an Abigail (she goes by that, as well as Abbs or Abby) and an Audrey (and pp, she is crazy too!). So I'm partial to those .

OP here. I am also leaning towards Paige. What did you end up deciding on for your DD?

We ended up going with Daphne and Lucy for our two girls. Used Paige as a middle name. The others are all still in consideration if we have another girl someday but I think we're done.

Wow. Daphne was on my original list too! My husband took it off the short list but I really loved it.

That's pretty funny--I guess we really do have similar tastes! Good luck with your decision.

I like Abby, but I'd use Abigail - just so she has the option when she gets older. I'm Suzie, NEVER Suzanne, but I'm glad my parents didn't just name me Suzie. I'd feel a little weird signing documents (or whatever) as Suzie Smith.

I like Sadie and I think it's perfectly fine as a stand alone name. With Abby, I feel like assumption will always be that she's Abigail, but not so much with Sadie and Sarah.

Audrey and Paige are great.

Sadie or Paige. Don't love Abigail (Abby is a good enough nickname though), and Audrey is ok but not great.

Abigail/Abby was on our short list. The problem was that DH loved Abigail and I only loved Abby. We went with something else, without a nn.

OP here. Abigail is just OK. I just feel like we'll end up calling her Abby from day one and that will be her "name" from here on out. I currently go by my nickname and have since the day I was born. I often wish my parents would have just named me my nickname.

But does your nickname sound like a nickname? I have a friend whose parents named her Jenny, not Jennifer. She hates it. On formal documents (resumes, legal documents-- she is a lawyer), she thinks it looks silly to have Jenny A. Smith. Again, I think some "nicknames" have morphed into full names so this is not really a concern.

I hate the name Paige. Irrationally hate it. Like Audrey & Sadie.

Sadie is a nickname for Sarah. It is also the name of people whose name is Sadie. Similarly, Abby is a nickname for Abigail, as well as the name of people whose name is Abby
