Former redskin cheerleader again. You were not allowed to become a groupie or date a player. It was not like college or anything. Practices were no where near the players. It is not like there was interaction between us. In fact it was prohibited. During a game the players are not focused on them.

I don't see how cheerleading camp would lead to being an NFL cheerleader, except for a few people.

My mom was a cheerleader, my sister was a cheerleader and several of my cousins were cheerleaders, along with quite a few of my friends. They all also kicked ass academically and mostly have pretty successful careeers now. (not as cheerleaders.) Cheering doesn't automatically turn you into a bimbo.

my daughter wants to go to cheer camp next year and while the sarcastic/ironic chick inside me rolls her eyes at that, the supportive mom will sign her up.

A recent former cheerleader married a doctor and is a SAHW.

Does your daughter have brains? If so, this is a harmless pursuit. If not, she may be distracted by it in school.

I love that every news story on the McDonnell corruption investigation refers to Virginia McDonnell as "the former Redskins cheerleader and Virginia First Lady now charged with 14 counts of corruption and obstruction of justice." Wonder if she'll organize a cheer squad in the pokey.
