This. Pick the rug first. In every room. Then paint. Revere Pewter is a very tanish beige. I would recommend buying a few testers first and painting areas of the wall and see which works best after you get the rug.

We are actually doing our house in revere pewter, so I think it is a good choice

Just a quick note of caution. Consider the exposure of your window. Is it north facing? We had mushroom colored walls in a south facing room and a north facing dining room. We still love the south facing room, but had to repaint the north facing dining room. It looked stunning and elegant in a gray/mushroom color, but with lack of good sunlight through the north window, the room became horribly depressing.

I used a paint color consultant and couldn't be happier. It was far cheaper than buying a million sample cans, etc.

I think it was around $150 for paint colors for the entire house. Well worth it and the colors are fantastic.
