I'm just starting the process this month and had no idea meds were so expensive. I think my insurance covers 80%, but it will still be expensive. Would anyone with 20% coinsurance mind sharing what they paid?

My experience as well. Just order about 5 days worth of meds at first - making sure you have enough to cover a weekend if you get your meds upped. I ordered from Prosperity this way and it was much less expensive because I ended up not needing all the meds that were called in for me. Prosperity will overnight you the meds for free. You just have to be dilligent in checking your medication and making sure you had enough.

Also - i joined a fertility support group and a side benefit was that we all donated meds to each other when we had leftovers. I felt better taking donated meds from people I knew.

I would never order my meds from the US. I got mine from Isreal where they were 1/2 the cost. I use ivfpharmacy.com. They are very professional and meds get here pretty fast. Only thing is they don't ship the needles so you'll need to get those from your doc or local pharmacy.

I posted earlier, but this was my same experience!! Crazy how much I spent and how much I had left. Then I hear of all these others whose SG nurses helped them with donated meds, ordering, etc., and it pisses me off all over again.[/quote]

This pisses me off too. I had friends who had partial coverage for meds and their nurses gave them donated meds. Meanwhile, DH and I paid out of pocket for all of our meds and when I asked our nurse about donated meds she denied SG ever gave donated meds. Such bullshit. My nurse also over ordered. I donated the extra meds to SG ...

I would not recommend going through the insurance pharmacy without coverage. They hike the costs way up.

I had luck with Freedom Pharmacy and the local Grubbs Pharmacy (which was great for refills because they take back unused medications). I also asked my nurse to prescribe the cheaper generic versions where possible.

Good luck! But yes, I also experienced the IVF meds sticker shock.
