I've bought maternity stuff there and was pleased. Since it's a UK site, you'll get charged in pounds, so use a card w/o foreign transaction fees (like the Capital One card).

I have never had an issue with transaction fees. Was this before the US site?

I would say the quality is variable and I usually need to size up. I usually return half of what I order because of quality/fit issues.

There is a US site. The prices are is USD but the sizes are still UK

Modcloth returns are very easy. You go on line to your shipping order, check items you are returning, print out a return label and drop the box off at a Fed Ex spot. They email you in a couple of days to say your return has been processed.

Quality varies at Modcloth; but you'd expect that given that many items are in the cheaper range. The reviews are invaluable in this regard; users are often watching their pennies and are pretty fussy about quality for dollars. I have had better luck with jeans at Modcloth than I've ever had in stores because the reviews have been helpful in steering me towards ones more suited for my body type. The reviews really are a standout feature at Modcloth--I don't know of any site that has a volume and depth of review per item equal to Modcloth.

Give it a try!

How easy is it to return modcloth items? How is the quality? Was looking at jeans and a dress!

I buy cloths and shoes from Saks, Bloomington, Ralph Lauren, Cole Haan and Patagonia. Always spend over the free shipping limit, then take items back to store if they do not fit.

I used to buy all house items (small appliances, electronics, nail clipper, hair spray......) from amazon because it has everything, even cosmetics sent from Asia. Now I am thinking about boycutt because of their cruel labor practice.

modcloth.com

Free shipping over $50, free returns. Vintage vibe, targeted at young adults, which I definitely am not. Absolute must for those who favor otherwise difficult to find fit and flare dresses (best choice ever for certain body types) with pockets. Many shorter dresses but also a good selection of knee length.
