My kids HATED the gym daycare. Always felt so guilty leaving them there so eventually I stopped. It was truly Lord of the Flies in there. Lazy women just keeping kids alive. My son who was about 3 or 4 used to complain about other kids poking at him all the time and they used to get sick a lot.

I wish we hada Lifetime closer to Arlingon or in DC. Those kid programs sound amazing!

Love it! We are at Xsport too but they charge $20 a month for each kid, unlimited per month, 2 hours max per visit. Or $1 per hour drop ins.

DH and I would drop the kids off for 2 hours, work out for an hour then hang out at the smoothie bar for an hour on our Saturday morning date.

Not all Lifetimes... Reston charges that much, but I think I pay $6/kid/month at Sterling and the playroom is much better, with a full basketball court.

Which location?

How is the childcare at that Golds? I belong there and would like to take my 4 year old.

It's actually a great side job. I work at a childcare center and do this on the weekends. Those "strange kids" are actually regulars on the weekend. Familiar face for child and worker. To answer OP's question, it's 2 dollars.

Plus you get a free membership and often free child are as well.

I used to be a member of a Washington Sports Club with childcare. The childcare was one of the huge selling points for me, but I was annoyed that they framed it as this great free perk that was available for members. It was, IRCC, $3/hr for a maximum of 2hrs per day. Cash due at the front desk at time of use. I used it like 3x and that was it.

Also the hours were weirdly sporadic and sometimes when it was supposed to be open, they'd just be like "Oh, sorry, the lady couldn't come in today..."

Is this normal? I always thought DD could go in there for free if we were members, but clearly I am mistaken.

Is this the norm for childcare at gyms in the DC/M/V area? Just trying to get a feel.

Thanks.
When we joined Reston S&H I want to say it was an extra 10$/ month to add the kids to the membership.. A few years ago, I took advantage of a web 3-day deal to add all other clubs., I usually go to Worldgate now. I bet it's 10$ month.

Yes they are. It costs me $30 or $50.00 a month - I think it is $50.00 My child is member of the lifetime academy and she can use up to 3 hours/day. What is included:

Wall climbing, swimming classes, tae kwon do, spanish immersion, gymnastics, ballet, arts and crafts and a few other things. Some of that stuff are available only for children 5 and up, like wall climbing.

They used to charge $90.00/month for this but I guess there was not much interest. YOu could also choose to pay $30.00/month just to use the childcare while working out, up to 3hrs a day. They got rid of the "only childcare" option.

That is really high. I've taken my daughter to several branches of Gold's, and been happy with the care. It's $3.50-$4 for 2 hours (1 hour for younger babies), though if you use it a lot, you can get an unlimited monthly pass for $20. I recognize most of the same kids every time we go, and some of them are from our preschool. (which is next door.)
