Totally agree .... we also don't exchange gifts or even cards. We've been happily married for 20+ years.

We actually don't exchange gifts for any special occasions but do so when we find something or think of something that the other would like. It is amazing how much Hallmark and other similar outfits have managed to commercialize things to a point where one is felt to be lacking if one does not follow the crowd.

Boyfriend just broke up with me a month ago so this V Day really was depressing. Single mom.

Ditto.

And I know this doesn't make you feel better OP, but believe me, the last place you want to be on Valentine's Day night is a supposedly decent restaurant, especially when it falls on a Friday. Totally amateur night, like eating out on New Year's Eve. The kitchen will be churning out pre-made specials and looking to turn tables quickly. No thank you!

I hated v day when I was single and I really don't care for it now that ive been married for 7 years. It's a hallmark made up holiday and has always felt contrived to me. I think it is much more meaningful to celebrate the unique nuances that are part of your relationship.

My day started out rough, but ended with wine and a group of great friends. Wouldn't have had my valentine's day any other way.

What a mature thing to do!

That's rare.

If you can, serve him papers on April Fool's Day. What an ass he is.

That was very thoughtful.

Epic sex marathons? Good grief.
