It would be funny if Jeff turned libertarian after going through all the costs and taxes and runnings of a formal business setup.

ITA. It was not apparent and I had no idea.

+1.

Something more specific, like "ISO accountant and attorney for small business".

I'll change the topic on this thread and see if that works.

I would recommend you email a former neighbor of mine, Micah Salb. He's a family lawyer but is great at recommending other lawyers and accountants. He is also a parent and I know he's familiar with DC Urban Mom--I'm pretty sure he used to actively post on the listserv.

Good luck!

His office is really disorganized, and I wouldn't recommend using his firm. Nice guy, though.

Okay. Good advice. I'll probably repost in a day or two. You would think I would know how to use a forum by now.

No way! That would destroy the DCUM mystique.

Thanks. But, we are actually in DC. Arlington, obviously, is not that far.

I realize you're in MD I think, but if you're willing to travel, try Art Lander, CPA in Arlington.

Arthur Lander CPA
3130 N. 10th St.
Arlington, Va. 22201

Realize, of course, this is the busy season for accountants so it might be a bit harder to get an appointment for things unrelated to meeting the April 15 filing deadline.

Yes, I fully expect an ongoing relationship with the accountant. I also expected I would need that with the lawyer, though some posts here suggest otherwise. I am definitely not looking for freebies. We have plenty of money. I just want to spend it wisely and legally.
