Your stove lights from a pilot light not electric ignition, so you shouldn't need a match.


I have a gas stove. In a power outage, the burners do not ignite.

The downside, of course, is that you'd have to be going in and out, so letting precious heat from your house out with no working furnace. Hmmm. . . . food or heat? Tough call.
