The commute when I took him to the admissions playdate was brutal...maybe I just got unlucky that day.

I get my GDS middle schooler at the later end the pickup time and there's no wait at all. My kid enjoys hanging out with friends during carpool and it's really been no problem.

However, I do wish the neighborhood would reconsider the no-walk in policy as it would surely relieve some of the congestion on MacArthur at the beginning of the pickup period, and it would reduce idling overall.

No, the car line is horrible. No one (child or adult) should have to wait 45 minutes for pick up. Its a nice school but not worth that sort of nonsense. My kids go there but I don't feel like there is no other school for them.

The carpool is not half as bad as people make it out to be. Great time to catch up on phone calls, or if you can come 10-15 minutes later, you don't have to wait on line at all. Besides, the school is worth every minute of any hassle!!(personal opinion, of course!)

Alternatively, the people who live along MacArthur Blvd. and in the surrounding neighborhood could realize that some of their neighbors' insistence on the no walk-in policy only contributes to congestion and pollution in the area.
