Subject: Are there any constituencies actually in favor of controlled choice in 1 or 2 mile radius?
For those of us that face exclusion from the Deal/Wilson track and are not sure our kid could get into SWW yes it might bring enough kids in to try the neighborhood. Or it may mean I try the Latin Highschool.

I don't think Latin will be moving anywhere. Or DCI once it's opened.
I think this concept is a joke, but if I were seeking votes in Ward 4, I'd play this idea up to no end.

exactly. this will never ever ever work as long as charters get crap space because of crap funding.

But what if charters move? How would neighborhood pref for charters work in practice? I don't see it.

The whole thing is idiocy. A great way for an opposition candidate to run and defeat Gray, if DCPS wants to take a stand on an idea like that. Almost every Ward would come together to crush him.
