No, I wouldn't.

I am stunned that you have a group of girlfriends who are able to take a 2 week international trip together - wow! I'd emtionally be able to leave my kids that long, but logistically I couldn't, so if you can manage the logistics, vacation time and expense, and have a partner who supports the trip, then I say go for it! Your kids are so young, they will not even remember this in a few months.

I wouldn't even be tempted.

I left my 1 yo for ten days to go on writing retreat overseas (completely paid for by a publisher) and I was surprised at what a wreck I was for all ten days.

I'd left my older child, at age six, to go to Ireland for eight weeks and hadn't had as many problems leaving him for that long. (Obviously I missed him, but I didn't have panic attacks about it.)

I'm going on another two week retreat very soon. My youngest will be three and I'll be within an hour's drive of him the whole time. I still have anxiety about it.

I'm a pretty relaxed parent and wouldn't do this.

No. Two weeks is too long for me personally. One week is too long for me actually but I realize you often need built in traveling days. I start to get itchy to see my kids again after 4-5 days.

My kids are 14 and 12 and I still would not consider this.

No way.
Can't believe you are even considering this.
Do you friends have kids?

No-2 weeks is a really long time. I did 4 nights for work at about that age, and was OK with that. But for a pleasure trip- no, I'd feel guilty. Also, that would impact the amount if vacation time I had to do travel with my family. It wouldn't be just leaving the baby, I'd also feel weird doing a 2 week trip without my husband.

No, I couldn't do it. Can you plan a girls weekend away with them for another time?

No, unless a family member was very ill or my job depended on it.
