I prefer weekday parties over weekend. I don't love giving up a Saturday running around kiddy parties. I save weekends for fam time.

We would!! I took my little one to a birthday party at chuck e cheese the friday before christmas. We had a blast!!! FYI some places offer incentives, like CEC offers extra tokens (like 100 I think) if you book a party on a Friday night. I found it to be very quiet actually that night, was pleasantly surprised!!

So it's not what you asked, but why does the brothers tournament rank higher than the bday party? Especially since it seems like there are multiple tournament going on.

My kid's never been invited to one, but I like the idea.

If you're doing a pizza and games/movie Friday night drop off party, that could definitely work for us. Doesn't have to be a sleep over.

No, Friday is still workday. It will be pain to get to bday party after work.

I'd initially be tired after the long work week and be stressed trying to make it there, with the present wrapped, DD dressed appropriately, etc., but then I'd appreciate that it was scheduled at a time when we otherwise would have had no commitments other than collapsing at home and having some "down" time at the end of the week, and I'd be grateful that it was over and done with before the weekend started.

This.

For my older elementary school kid, always. In fact, most of the non-laser tag parties are Friday evening.

For my younger elementary kid, definitely if it was a friend, maybe if it is just a kid who they don't ever play with.

For my kindergartner, as long as the party winds up around 7:30 or so, sure.

I see that with neighbors and friends. I'm not thrilled, but know its my future.

Fridays--I love to hole up in my house with DH, good bottle of wine and a fattening home-cooked meal (our once a week major indulgence like a NY-strip, etc). kids go to bed at normal time...I'm not getting in the car and driving to and fro. The weekend will be filled with sports'games.this is the calm before the storm.

I am not a fan of Friday parties but if my kids get invited we will go if it is a good friend.

we would. you usually know the top 3 kids you'd really want there, could you swing the date by them? even if it is smaller if his main friends are there is it usually not a problem. if parents commute fridays can be tough, but maybe offer to help carpool as well.
