a few questions though:
are there side effects to the Claritin D/Pseudoephedrin?
Is irritability/moodiness related to ADHD?
what other, non medical, things have helped you?
Time for me to do something about it.....
Thanks!
Yes, irritability and moodiness can definitely be related to ADD. I'd suggest seeing a practitioner - you don't want to mess around with this stuff (and I've never heard of Claritin D as a remedy, Id be cautious there)
First - please see a psychiatrist who specializes in ADHD for a workup and proper dx. I have 2 kids with ADHD and there are many different meds with different mechanisms of action, side effects, efficacy etc.
Second, check out
http://www.chadd.org/ they are a great organization and are a wonderful resource for adults adults and children with ADHD and their families. You can learn more about ADHD, co-morbidities, strategies and coping skills as well as learning about the importance of self-care (nutrition, diet, exercise, sleep) and how ADHD affects the entire family.
PLEASE do not self-medicate. Just because you can buy stimulants OTC doesn't mean they are safe or effective in treating your symptoms. There are tons of resources out there to help. Good luck.
