+1, I would also add North Four Corners and South Four Corners to this list. Woodside is going to be slim pickings under $650k.


We're in this area and scored a large yard. The sizes do really vary by house, but you definitely will have good options in that price range.

Brookville, in Silver Spring, Hyattsville, Mt. Ranier, and College Park have nice houses with not-small yards.

The Hills actually would work for what the poster is seeking except I wouldn't call small houses in PH quality. You can find a well-maintained original house with a good-looking addition, though. They would be about 2000 sqft at most.

20912, yes, our Tak Pk yard is nearly 6000 sq ft, but not over 6000. It's not hard to find a house on a double lot in Takoma Park, either, if you keep your eyes open.

20910. We live across the street from takoma in easy silver spring on 6700 square feet. Small house with basement. I know a few houses that will go on the market in the spring.

I actually saw some houses with 0.25 acre yards in that price range in South Arlington when we were searching. They were in the Alcova Heights neighborhood.

I think you could also easily get that in the Fairfax county section of Falls church. the schools are not the highest ranking in Fairfax, but they're still Fairfax County schools. A friend of mine just found something for $500K that has a nice yard.

Found it! 8903 Battery Rd, 22308. Nice lot which backs to a huge, quiet national park (Fort Hunt). House looks OK on Zillow. Wish it was available when we were looking. You can forward my cut when you close.
