"products" PP back again. You're right, I was confusing the word 'products' with word "brands" (the word OP did in fact use -- 'What brands do you recommend / are some brands better than others?'

But the point is the same, as is the question to OP.

Brands is a word typically associated with processed items like crackers, granola bars, humus and ice cream. What brand of ice cream do you like? "Brand" is not a word that is typically used in conjunction with unprocessed foods, like grapes or pork chops.

So maybe OP will come back and clarify what types of edibles s/he's asking about.
