Nope. I would just be annoyed that I'd need to repaint right away. I can live with a nice neutral for some time. Or even most cool colors. I'd have to repaint yellows/reds/oranges immediately. I can't stand 99% of them and they feel dated.

The yellow room in our new house is the first to go.

+ 2 I hate yellow. The beige I chose for my bedroom looks yellow even though it's not and I can't stand it.

I'd go for Manchester Tan in the bedroom and hallway. You might also try it in the minty green room. Surprising your home didn't sell. Maybe try more aggressive staging? Good luck!

you need a warm grey. BM Revere Pewter toned down 50%, BM grey owl, or BM edgecomb grey

I wouldn't do grays or blues. Blues are very taste specific, and grays just look dingy at worst or cool and sterile at best.

Stick with shades of white, biege, taupe or light tans.

Yellows are okay, but are hard to do right and are very taste specific.

I hate yellow tinted whites/neutrals. Reminds me of walls stained by cigarette smoke.

I would do a white with blue undertones.

BM Linen White works great for bedrooms as well. Just enough color to make the trim pop.

Isnt grey the new beige? I would do a very very light grey in the bedrooms. Tan is okay everywhere else. No green, robin egg, brown, etc. Just light tn or light grey.

I agree that I don't understand the attraction of pale gray. One or two shades off white just looks dingy. A bolder gray can be nice, but not something I'd do with an eye toward resale.


Completely agree. This is how the north-facing living/dining room of our bungalow was painted, and it just looked dirty and depressing. We recently painted the room with Benjamin Moore Soleil. It is a very soft yellow. Definitely a yellow, but pale. It has completely transformed the room into a warm and much brighter space.
