I've never done it myself but when I had my DD a friend far away bought a week's worth of dinners for us since she wasn't near enough to bring us a homemade meal. As I recall, they were all decent and edible. Not exciting, but in those early newborn days they were slighly healthier and more well-rounded than another night of pizza or chinese being delivered, or something like pre-frozen Stouffers lasagna.
I wouldn't do it as part of my normal menu planning since we mostly eat fresh and organic and rarely eat out, but do see a niche for these types of services.
