Can you list a few? The only one I know is Giant hoodies and there's a wait list for those!

There was this thread a while ago:

And to the first pp: there aren't that many American-made brands anymore. I'm happy to support them when I need something, but there are so few choices and they're not easy to find.

I will jump on this an add a few brands. About five or six years ago, I used to buy Elie Tahari because it was high quality. Now it might as we'll be h&m. And 10 plus years ago, I bought bcbg, which is also crap. I don't mind paying for a quality, but I do mind paying for crap with a brand name slapped on it.

Some of the fabrics are so sheer, I might as well wear cellophane.

I blame sweat shops and private equity cos seeking to increase margins.

Right now I will buy Tory burch or Burberry because at least the quality is there.

I completely agree! There's nothing to buy. I return most of what I buy ( mostly shop online)

I'm pp, and one of the only thing I've bought this season is AG jeans. Just saw the post above. I LOVE them.

According to this New Yorker profile, Theory manufactures in the US, or tries to.

JBrand, Adriano Goldschmied, and American Apparel are all manufactured in California.

the clothes that I have bought recently from Boden are really well made and have held up beautifully. I am actually not sure if they are made in the UK or not - but the fabric is sturdy. Boden is fairly expensive although not super high-end, and while it does not have the widest range of choices they do offer a few nice work pieces and fun everyday dresses.

I think you're missing the point. Everyone agrees that all of their clothes that are >10 years were decently crafted. These days, it doesn't matter what you pay -- it is all poorly made.

I also have Eileen Fisher clothes that I bought this year and they're not poorly made either. I keep buying them because I haven't had any quality issues. I'd be curious to see what item the OP received for Christmas.

I'd never be stupid enough to pay much for anything made in china. That's crazy. The slave trade quality is always inferior.

With the exception of a pair of leggings (Eileen Fisher) my other clothes from there have held up well.

There is an Eileen Fisher store near me so I went in a few months ago. I almost had a heart attack after looking at the prices. A pair of leggings for over $100! Really? Crazy!
