We use Navy Federal for everyday banking, Capital One 360 (formerly ING Direct) for emergency funds, and I maintain a small checking account at Suntrust for bricks-and-mortar. We found out that Navy Federal and other credit unions can't do some kinds of transactions, specifically international wire transfers. So that's why we keep a Suntrust account. I've not found another good solution for wire transfers, which we do occasionally for booking international hotels and travel.

They are consistently rated as one of the best companies in the country.

Their customer service is amazing.

Their on-line banking is outstanding.

They refund all ATM charges.

I have no idea about overdraft charges. We don't overdraw our accounts.

In the almost 30 years that I've been a member, I have literally never had a problem. We have our bank accounts, car insurance, life insurance.....everything with USAA.

Bank of Georgetown. Great customer service and supporting a local business. I had an account at ING but left when they were taken over by Capital one (also banked at Chevy Chase Trust and left during the horrible transition to Capital One).
