This. Actually, this time we did the whole screaming fight on Tuesday so we were able to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas in grumpy silence.

I'm Midwestern so very traditional Christmas meal. Also, deviled eggs. Every holiday has deviled eggs. Growing up, we used to do a large family dinner at Grandmas house, where she would make each Grandchilds favorite dish. Examples include cream pies, chicken & homemade noodles, cole slaw, fruit salad, potato salad, ham, green beans ( that had been canned from her garden) and more.

We have seafood and clam chowder for Christmas Eve. Prime rib and salad for Christmas day. There is always some sort of pie for desert on both days, typically pumpkin or mincemeat.

Not the poster but I had both at dinner today
Christmas crackers are wrapped paper tubes maybe 6 inches long. When you pull them apart (the person sitting next to you pulls one end and you pull the other) they make a cracking sound. They usually contain a small silly toy, puzzle, fortune, or jokes. They usually have a tissue paper crown which is worn through dinner.
Trifle is a layered dessert which usually has sponge cake, fruit, maybe a custard and cream. Very good. It is in a tall glass bowl so you can see the various layers
As the Brits say. Happy Christmas
