My husband does some similar big baby stuff not this bad but sometimes close. Luckily, it's more to me not my ds. But, I know it sucks. I hope you find a place. Yes, go to the women's center in Vienna even if you don't live in va. They can help you a lot.

I'm going through this too. I wanted to try to make things work so DS would grow up with mom and dad, but finally realized that I can't do it anymore. I don't know why my husband is like he is, he acts like a 5 year old, and expects me to be his maid and mother. I'm done. I just want to raise my son, and have absolutely no desire to try to have a relationship with a man in the future. Done. Every single man I've been with has been like this.

Trust me, it's probably real.

What we should be asking ourselves is - why are so many husbands such a-holes like this? My husband (soon to be ex) is pretty much like this also. Most of my friends' husbands are like this too.

That is truly bizarre. I have to admit, on one occasion when I felt that DH and DS were ganging up on me and making fun of me in an inappropriate way, I refused to speak to either of them for an hour or two. But for days? For the situation you described? That's insane.

Unfortunately, people like this exist. One of my friends attempted suicide and on the way to the hospital to visit the mother, the dad told his pre-teen stepdaughter that it was her fault because she was a bad child. People suck sometimes.

He came out to get a plate of food from the table we were all seated at, didn't say hello and walked back to his room to eat.


This sounds comical to be honest. I cannot imagine a husband and father behaving so childishly. If this is indeed a genuine circumstance and not some contrived attempt for attention then my sympathy is with the DH. The poor man must either be overwhelmed with psychological trauma or one of the most ignorant individuals the world has ever known.

NP. The only reason I think this is real is that I dated someone like this. He once stopped talking to me on the way home from a trip (not even a fight!) and when we ran into a friend of his, he wouldn't talk to him either. Bizarre.

OP, if you're in Virginia, call the Women's Center in Vienna. They can point you in the right direction with respect to lawyers, counselors, etc., who work with women in your situation.

Also, I agree with PP to keep telling your DC that it isn't his fault and that you love him. This must be so confusing for him. Good luck.

OP, get your son to a therapist. Your husband's behavior will surely be even worse during the divorce process, and your son will need professional help. He is being emotionally abused by his father already.
