OMG. This is OP and that's the pattern. Still, given all the testimony I'll bite the bullet and handwash. Thanks, everyone, for all the input.

Hand wash them for now. My mom's china, about 40 years old now started showing signs of wear on the silver trim and then she started tossing it in the dishwasher on the china setting.
