We rent and maximize savings in other ways, including retirement. We do have some smaller repair and maintenance costs because we are long term renters and repair things ourselves without bugging the landlord. Getting furnace serviced, chimney and gutters cleaned, siding power washed, deck restained, etc. so there are still some maintenance costs. But nowhere near what you'd pay if something major broke. We've been very happy and like watching our savings grow rapidly.

I'm confused why there is minimal tax benefit. You know you'll have to stop claiming the investment condo as your primary residence, right?
