just curious what grade? thanks for responding! you can even give a range if you prefer, like 1-2. 3-4. 5-6 or something...

I just ignore the DC threads where they are always hyping on how great MoCo and Fairfax is to DC (not so for elementary.) I have a friend that moved into DC from Fairfax and she says the education in her Fairfax school was behind what she is getting in DCPS (not charter.)
MoCo and Fairfax schools far outperform DCPS. DCPS is a struggling system with a weak superintendent who acknowledges that she's basically clueless as to how to educate middle or high school students.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:No. It is Whitman. There are great teachers and plenty of opportunities for advanced classes, etc. Do wealthy kids hire tutors? Sure, they probably do. Doesn't change the fact that the school offers a great education to all its students.
Whitman is on par with all of the elite private schools in this area. In some areas it is better. Plain and simple.
Yeppers. Plain n' simple.
Why, MCPS takes pride in funneling all the best teachers and courses and facilities only to Whitman but not its other high schools. That's totally plausible.
