My guess is no. Most people with high HHI or net worth send their kids to private. I think you'd be pretty average.

I've always been skeptical of these CNN Money numbers since census data and other data by zip code shows every single zip code in Bethesda as being below this figure. Also the State of Maryland calculates it at a little under $140,000.

I'm a building in MoCo too, and agree that the same home in Whitman is generally much more. But it has much more to do with location than school. Getting to DC is easier, as is getting to Tyson's and the Dulles corridor. For two-commute families, Whitman pyramid is more of an option than WJ...doesn't really have much to do with the relative quality of the schools.

The odds of Ken-Gar zoning to WJ in a decade are not high, given the growth in demographics in the relevant areas. Possible yes, but not 100%. Also, ken-gar is historically an Aa neighborhood. To think that isn't reflected in price is naive, unfortunately.

Yes it is. I live in the Whitman cluster and my neighbor, who is a leading tear-down builder in Bethesda, tells me that you can take the same exact house, one in the Whitman cluster and one in the WJ cluster, the Whitman house will get at least 100K more than the WJ house.
