Before we had kids I could handle middle of the night sex. But, since we've had kids, I just don't get enough rest. I don't want to be roused just when I'm about to drift off and I don't want to be woken when I'm asleep. I think it's just part of my DH's planning/thinking ahead challenge. He's more of a spur of the moment guy in lots of things and he probably doesn't feel the urge earlier in the evening. He also has problems with impulse control - hence I get pawed in my sleep.

Your husbands sound like selfish a'holes and that's what I would say to make it stop. Seriously! I love to f like the next girl, but not after I've fallen asleep. This isn't rocket science, it's called common courtesy.

A woman sued her husband for sleep sex. And won.

Whether any of you want to believe it or not it is a form of rape.

Please say the following to your husband: You know when I hit the hay I fall asleep quickly. If I am awakened I cannot go back to sleep. If you would like to have sex with me, please do so before I hit the hay.

Logic is your friend

Is it rape if you are sleeping?

I'm guessing it's a logistics thing. When you're in bed next to one another, it's easier to physically grab or rub in a sexy sort of way. When your wife is, say, sitting on the couch during the evening after the kids are asleep; if you walk up to her, bend down to her level, and try to do anything physical to get things started, it's a little awkward unless she responds positively. If she just remains passive or reacts negatively at that point, you just feel like a goon.
